Hi kaze

maybe if u tells us where u are then might be able to give u speciifc recomendations?

For me i started with handbrushing with airfix and humbrol enamels.
Then tamiya hand brushing with poor results.. Now i airbrush with tamiya and gunze laquers.

Some issues of Hobby Japan which have a guide of hand brushing with gunze using the gloss finish of a Gundam.

After washing and air drying the model they would spary surfacer( can or air brush to cover small scratches) then they would brush on thin coats of gunze thined with leveling thinner(slower drying time). Keep brush strokes short and wait for coats to dry before adding next layer.

If tamiya is the only brand u can get perhaps u could try thining with a little water and acrylic paint retarder(available in art supply stores). I know some figure modellers who use this method so that they can blend shades like oil paint.
