Myself and at least one other guy I know have used the laquer thinner reduced Mr. Surfacer on these types of tracks, (which I was answering the question about), with absolutely no problem. It's all the same thing. I have no fear that the tracks will melt. Of course one needs to be careful and not soak the treads but to give a nice thin priming.
