Geoff is right...
Also think about some of the North African Battles they were fought close to the Mediterran Sea, so their is mosture in the air. Bare metal would scale, then be sand blasted clean, or scrubbed clean by the desert sand. Also note the US Army and British First Army fought in the more Mountainous terran, while the British Eigth Army fought in Dune Seas so things woul weather differently. Mufflers would burn off their paint so they would scale. |
