Hi,
I have been speaking to Tom Jentz about colors, painting, etcetera. I mentioned that some modelers would add white to a color for scale effect and, being more inquisitive than I, he asked why? If there was any proof, he'd like to know.
Sadly, where I live, the weather is awful but I would like to know the results of the following experiment.
Take an object and paint it a certain flat color (not black or white). Take a scale item and paint in the same exact color.
Mount both on a level base with the scale item at the height of mass center of the larger item but at a distance from it.
Use a digital camera on a tripod to take a photo with the proper focal length that both items are clear.
View the results, is the color the same?
