An excellent product to make the decals edge disapear is Future floor wax, airbrush it on then apply decals when dry. Apply another coat when decals are dry, then use your black/dark color wash for panel lines and such. Then spray with your chioce of flat, and apply your dirt/stain washes. Thats how I do it, works for me.
