Hi,
Everywhere you look in the literature it says that Allied vehicles in N-Africa had a lighter tone of desert sand than German DAK vehicles.
R.C. Hill probasbly refers to Tamiya's XF-59 named Desert Yellow.which is more or less correct for DAK vehicles.
For British tanks and trucks in N-Africa I also use XF-59 butI mix in flat white XF-2.
The percentage of additional white varies, taking into consideration that no two vehcles were exactly the same due to fast fading under the sunlight especially on non-reflective paints.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Jerry |
