Hello Michael.
Do your best to obtain either of these two (oop) books:
Desert Tracks- British Armour in North Africa by William Platz
Osprey Vanguard #23 British Tanks in North Africa by Bryan Perrett.
They have some of the best color plates I've seen. Light Stone is the most common color used. I have found that I custom mix just about any color I spray on my kits. I use to lighten Tamiya XF -59 with XF-2. I also tried XF-55? Buff with a little XF- 49 Khaki. Try and locate some vendor close who carries Vallejo Acrylics. They are great paints, have more earthtone shades than anyone else, and are compatible / mixable with Tamiya Acrylics.
HTH,
Rob |
