Hi Mike
I've used a colour mix from the August 2002 Modelart Australia mag and am very happy with the result. The colours of British armour tend to be a light sand colour as opposed to tan.
In painting the Stuart Honey they used the following mix.
Portland Stone (Base Colour) - Tamiya Buff XF57 95% and Tamiya Flat White 5% (I added half a ml of white to a full bottle of buff.)
Silver Grey - Medium Grey XF20, Light Blue XF23, Medium Blue XF18 and White XF2 in equal amounts.
Slate - Tam Light Sea Grey XF25 5%, Dark Green XF61 90% and Buff XF57 5%
Interestingly they painted their interior an off-white colour a mixture of buff and white-prob about 25%-75%
Hope this helps
Shane |
