Subject:  Replacement for Vallejo Dark Yellow, would their Buff do?List thread.

 From:  Jussi Vehosalmi
Hello, I've been going this over and over in my head, but I just can't help feeling that Vallejo's Dark Yellow is too green and dark for the German Dunkelgelb.

Even though the actual colour is said to have darkened instead of becoming lighter as result of sunlight, I think I'd like to know if anybody could tell me a Vallejo replacement to represent a rather new and still factory fresh Dunkelgelb finish - from photographs I've seen it looks as if the original colour is very close to a buff or light sand or tan colour. Any comments on this?

So, here's the story in brief :) >>>
1) replacing the Vallejo Dark yellow with a lighter colour, is it smart or not-so-smart? Accuracy still counts!
2) would Vallejo Buff or such work for the factory fresh colour for dunkelgelb?
3) this whole rambling is because I'm building a 251/22 and want it to look the way they were: very late war vehicles which were issued for only a short time before the war ended. I don't think the dark dunkelgelb is appropriate, as the colour became darker instead of fading through time. Unless the 251 was old production the whole vehicle should be quite light and unweathered? Am I right or completely off the track?

Thank you for any kind of help or comments, what doesn't help me with this might help me (and somebody else!) sometime later!

Cheers, Jussi
