Another option is to so what some have done in the past...use yellow stenciling, especially 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft stenciling, for markings.

If you look at this Verlinden Pic of their 155mm set, it has white/black stencils, but being a ex-Forward Observer, all the stencils I saw on the M100, M109, and M198 ammo (admittedly very little that was not detonating) were in yellow, primarily.

Now I admit that just using the decals from the AFV Club set is a smart move, except you will have lots of ammo without any markings. Why even buy the resin ammo?
