I wonder if that non slip texture on some Tiger Is isn't actually non-textured
Zimmerit to avoid ennemy infantry putting magnetic mines in this area wich is
within their reach.
About Panthers I've never seen this EXCEPT on the turret top of the Panther II
at Fort Knox, which was fitted postwar with a very late production Panther Ausf
G turret. This anti-slip texture is kind of swirly and furiously reminds me of
a type I've seen on Chieftain MBTs... This would probably be a
postwar/restoration feature. To make sure you could try posting on AFV News as
Charles Lemmons,the Patton Museum curator frequently posts there.
