Gotta agree here... done it myself a few times.
If you have tool-locating pins, put a ~teeny~ bit of glue in the locating ~holes~ (not on the pins) with a toothpick or straight-pin, and then pressing the tool down in place. If you used just the right amount, you should have no ooze-out. When in doubt about quantity, test on an already-messed-up kit.
The alternate method is to ~replace~ the pins this way: Drill out the locating points on the hull out to take fine wire (telco is good) and then CA short wire stubs to the tools where the pins should be (or drill/replace the pins) Then you paint the tools, place them on the hull, and just bend the wire lugs over like a staple! If you don't trust the wire to hold alone, apply a bit to the wire stub ~inside~ the hull.
