According to "Tiger I on the west front" (from Histoire & Collections), some of the Tigers in Tunisia were painted with RAL 7008, a grey-green color very very similar to U.S. Olive Drab. In fact I have just painted my African Tiger (from Tamiya) with this color and if you compare this with an olive drab vehicle, is very hard to say wich is wich.
To me the use of RAL 7008 makes sense, since this color was authorized to be used in African theatre and was a standar color for germans.
If you want to make a "green" tiger, you can use RAL 7008 or U.S. Olive drab. At the end the result is the same... |
