A lot depends on where they were painted in the final colour (green).
1) At the factory in Germany.
2) On the way to Tunisia, in Italy for example.
3) In Tunisia.
Which tank (chassis number) was supposed to be green? Was it over grey or brown?
There is a photograph of 250015 fresh off the boat in Tunis. It is desert brown, I can tell because the mounting lugs for the side dust shields have been welded on after the vehicle was painted. The soot left around the lugs is much darker than the paint the tank was finished in.
