Howdy Paul - I thin/clean-up Mr Surfacer with automotive acrylic laquer thinner. I've been aplying Mr. surfacer with the same fine brush, and then cleaning this brush with the thinners for months now, and the brush is still in perfect condition. While we're on the subject of laquer thinners, let me just say that this stuff is magic - It cleans up almost anything off your non-plastic modelling tools....or your fingers....:-)

Cheers,

Alex.
