Thanks for the replies. Last year, when I first got back into it I used acrylics, I still have about a dozen pots of Tamiya paint. But I don't really get on with them that well. I find they dry too quickly, whether brushed or airbrushed, they also tend to be quite grainy. When using acrylics I thin with distilled water, and use the Tamiya thinners just for cleaning.

I was really hoping there'd be a natural alternative to white spirit. We have quite a small house, and with my young wife wanting a baby in the near future, I might just have to stick to brush painting.
