I've used MM acrylics for years and never had a problem. I'm not a big fan of Tamiya masking tape because i think it is sometimes too tacky, but it's never pulled anything up. For masking tape i really like the blue tape sold for home use - not too tacky and can be cut very easily. On occaisions I've also used Blue Tack which is real tacky - it will yank off pe but i've never lost any paint.
Did you prime? That gives acrylics a bit more tooth. by nature acrylics don't have the solvent bite that lacquers have. it might also help to put a thin layer or flat coat on your initial coat before masking. |
