I suspect the yellow in the profiles of "US Tank Battles in North Africa & Italy '42-'45" was a printer's error on Concord's part rather than a choice by Zaloga, as it came out lime green on some pages only. A "see-through" look for the bands doesn't make sense, as paint was not in short supply and the Armored Force's use of yellow instead of white had been in force since before the US entered the war.
I believe a slightly orange yellow would be correct, rather than lemon yellow. |
