My method is the follwoing-
I have two- a Custom Micron and an HPBCS-
I 1st spray clean thinner through the brush. I will put my finger over the end allowing the thinner to blow bck into the bottle.
I then disassemble. Push the needlt through the front so the dirty needle is not dragged through the rear of the brush.
I use a Q-tip for the feed hole on the brush. Pipe cleaners work great for the tip, cap, etc.
I will pull out the air valve every 3rd use or so.
If using oils- I dont add oil to the parts. If using acrylics and cleaning with alcohol- I add a tiny bit of the Iwata oil to the needle- and make sure it gets on the packing and the o-rings. All threds get a little oil
For cleaning acrylics I mix 50-50 Distilled water and alcohol- the water lowers the evaporation rate and the alcohol is great on dried paint. Feel free to email questions- I have been using the same Iwatas for 3 years with no probelms or replacment parts- and I paint A LOT!
HTH-
