Polly Scale is an acrylic, i.e. water based paint.
Personally, as a rule I use:
Paint Brand Thinner
Enamels (Model Master) Lacquer thinner or Model
Master Airbrush thinner
Acrylics (Tamiya, Gunze, Future) Denatured Alcohol or Windex
If you cannot be sure, then I suggest that you don't try to substitute the
manufacturer's shelf thinner!! I've learned long ago to let my nose be my
guide to paint chemistry. (I've also had the experience of clogging a
perfectly clean paint brush by mixing in the wrong thinner. If you ever do
this once, you'll never forget it.)
I soak my chrome plated Paasche Double Action VL, once completely
disassembled, in Wesley's Bleche-White or Denatured Alcohol overnight. Scrub
all crevices with a stiff pipecleaner and dry thoroughly. I also keep used
guitar strings to chase out any residue from the air galleys in the mixing
cap. Guitar strings have a lot of other uses for the modeller, but that's
another topic..............I digress............
'Nuff said........
