Hi Steve the base kit is the Tamiya Initial Tiger 1, i used this kit as the Dragon one wasn't out at the time i started the project (Go's to show how long its taken me lol) its an easy conversion, you just need to fill all the tool holes and the engine hatch where the fefiel filters are attached also shave the towing points of at the front of the tank to be replaced by resin ones in the Cromwell set.
If i did it again i would use the Dragon kit to save me putting the notches on the lower hull, also the plates around the drive housing needs to come of as well.
