Drybrushing isn't really a "weathering" technique as such, though it is typically lumped into that category. It's an artistic thing, creating a sense of push and pull to enhance the details on a model, and to give s sense of depth. But, of course, just like the use of pastels, pigments, paint chipping, or just about any or modelling technique you can think of, it can be greatly overdone. All things in moderation.
