Hi Mike,

I just wanted to say i totally agree with you. Drybrushing is still very much alive.. if and when correctly applied. a lot of people use drybrushinh as frosting: not too nice. a friend of mine has actually near perfected the skill of drybrushing as a way of painting his aircraft models. and it's quite amazing the results he get. i'll take a picture and show you. it's quite intriguing.

for my own sake i picked up drybrushing in 93 as i painted the chainmail on my first orc, and i still use drybrush to create metal effects and polished steel. drybrush is also my favoured tecnique when blending colours on a tank; creating sunfades and slight differences on panels. a great tip to acheive some nice results with drybrushing is to mix the basecolour with 10-15% of the shade your looking to create (find out how a colour fades by exposure to sunlight) drybrush two or three coats of this and then finish it off by drybrushing only the basecolour back on. takes some practice but the results are nice. maybe i'll post a pic of that as well.

anyways, great debate here guys.. now i've said 'drybrush' too many times, so i'll sign off and get some work done:P
