I'm with Mike on this ( hi Mike ! ). And I also agree with a few others.
Drybrushing does bring added depth in realism .... BUT, unlike some other aspects of modeling, the right paint texture & subltey are the rules here. If not adheared to, this technique can be far, far, far overdone to the point of creating just a "scuffed-up painted toy".

The trick is to know when to stop, and know where to apply the DB. This will noticably be the difference in viewing a "scuffed-up painted toy" or a scale replica of a military AFV, uniform, building, etc.
- "Different strokes for different folks".

.... and for the record: Mike also makes a great point about brushes - 'There is a noticeable advantage/difference when using good quality Mongolian or Red sable bruhes vs, CHEAP $1.00 brushes.
