I used a Humbrol shade called "hardened leather". The color is still avialble as "leather brown" or something. It is not a red color, but sort of an orangish
brown. I thought it looked good and had a somewhat faded look. For that tank, I sprayed the vehicle brown, then sprayed the green over it. Even without
masking, you can get a good line that looks pretty sharp. If you want to hand paint the pattern, I would spray on the brown, then paint the green with Testors
Acryl.
