There are photos showing painting going on over spare track and tools but also some showing the wheels being sprayed, despite the lack of wisdom in the latter as it makes the wheel more visible when rotating. I can't see anyone removing trackguards though - that sounds like a load of work for no obvious benefit.
Bear in mind that the purpose of camouflage is to render the vehicle less visible, so removing a tool, painting behind it and then replacing it will tend to defeat the object. Tracklinks are heavy, so you'd need to have a pretty keen Werkstatt Kompanie to remove them from a whole unit's tanks just so they could camouflage the area underneath them which would be invisible once they had been heaved back into place. Also, contrary to how most of us paint them (however nice the wood effect), tools are generally painted to protect them as well as to make them less visible. |
