Thanks for the replies. I thinned it about 60% paint 40% Tamiya thinners. I have a fairly basic compressor which is only on or off and I think the pressure's quite high.
The paint's gone on really nicely, no sags or runs. I used a lot of milliput and plasticard on the model so it took three coats to get a decent cover. To be honest I'm actually really happy with the result.
This is the first time I've actually managed to get a decent coat with an airbrush! I had to scrap a chieftain which had runs and sags at the bottom of the side skirts.
How close is close? I guess I had the airbrush about 20-30cm away from the model, any closer and the paint runs. |
