Of every model I've seen that have zimmerit applied and has chipped sections of missing zimmerit, not one of them shows a base colour, even ones that have been resprayed still show the camo over everything, chipped patches included. So cujo's to you for wanting to show such area's as I think it is definetly neglected ! Another think you can show if you want is touch-up sprays for demarcation lines of camo, even military vehicles to get touch ups and they usually are of a different shade or such. A good example is the camo's applied to vehicles like HMMWV's etc. WWII AFV's also have touch ups done, some also with a brush or a broom.
