Hi Ruud,

As a frequent user of Archer dry transfers I can guarantee you that Archer do put a lot of research into their decals. And their instructions reflect that too.

They have vehicle-specific sets like the ones you consider to buy for Panthers as well as (amongst others) 'generic' sets with just turret numbers and divisional markings for German vehicles, UK & Commonwealth Formation Signs and 'Arms of Service Flash' decals.
Recent additions are placards and instrument dials for Allied and German vehicles, another superb addition to the alreay big range of subject sheets. Just take a long look at Archer's own site ( advertized here on Track-Link) and see how much variety they offer.

In case of the former you get a detailed sheet showing you where all the individual decals should go, in case of the latter it obviously is more of a personal choice. But even then there always is info on what units used which numbers et cetera.

For me, the greatest advantage of dry transfers like Archer's is that you never see any carrier film around the decal so you really get a beautiful 'painted on' effect.
In any case, I can recommend the use of Archer dry transfers wholeheartedly to anyone.

Happy Modelling
Jerry
