I have many old tanks sitting on my selves looking exactly the way they did when I finished them back in the 70s and 80s. I'll take them down and do any age related repairs to things that have fallen off -or suffered move related dammages.I have older dioramas that I will touch up from time to time also,if I've learned a new scenery related trick or a new product becomes available that I can work into the mix.

I tend to leave things as they are,as a reminder of how my skills have changed-ambitions waxed and waned,or kit quality improved over the years.I tend to leave a diorama as is unless it's to repair something, basic maintenance as it were.

I have two diorama bases that are now used to show a vehicle in a scene,to check my camo/weathering paint job etc.The original vehicles and figures have been removed and the base merely serves as a way to "see the tank in use".

If I really feel the need to repaint or add photo etch /resin parts, why thats just a perfectly good reason to go out and buy the newest version of that kit.

The items I revisit and worry about the most would be figures. If I lived to be 2000,I doubt I could ever become skilled enough in that department to leave well enough alone.

I think that is why I am enjoying the posts of some of the older kits that are being shown lately, part memory lane part skill level check

but Doctor the Ink Blots look like Ink Blots to me.....
