Paul,
The interior of US tanks in WW II is white. Seats are a black naugehide (spelling?). Handles on levers and such are a black hard plastic. Breech of the gun is usually gun metal and not painted but I have seen the 37mm breech painted white. There are stencils throughout the vehicle for placement of ammo, canteens and such. The only thing I have seen red is the fire suppression tanks and some have a red cap on the oil filler spout.
