I have the Tamiya Superfine HG and love it...I do large coverage and detail work with it. I thought it was expensive at first, but you get what you pay for. Like any other airbrush, the key to using it is knowing the proper thinning ratio and air compressor settings for your paints prior to starting work. Sometime I wish I followed my own advice.
I also own an Aztek A470; I prefer the feel of a metal airbrush and would take the Superfine HG any day of the week. I actually haven't used my Aztek since. Actually, I have 2 A470s and they are in ok to fair condition but they were purchased before I appreciated things such as properly thinning paints, careful cleaning, etc. If anyone wants to pay for the shipping, you can have them.
I'm thinking of getting the Iwata Custom Micron B for super detail work next, for those jobs that the HG can't handle such as hairline camo schemes. |
