Hi Damon and All Others
Modelkasten tracks and enamels don't go together well.
(...which might be The Understatement Of The Week...)
I am speaking from (sad) experience.
The thinner in you enamel does indeed affect the plastic material of the tracks. More thinner in your paint-mix speeds-up and increases the problems.
Years ago I used to airbrush MK tracks with a very thinned down enamel mix and the tracks fell apart into separate links again. And not re-useable either!
Save yourself a lot of hassle and do stick to acrylics when painting or airbrushing your MK tracks.
The smaller and more delicate the tracks are, the sooner the 'enamel problem' appears, obviously.
For instance the extremely beautiful but very thin and tricky Pz-1 tracks (included in the TriStar Pz-1 kits) are much more sensitive than eg the sturdier tracks of the T-34 pictured here.
H.T.H. and happy modelling
