| Subject: | Airbrushing with SPARMAX AC-100 compressor | |

Hello
I am experiencing some dramas with my new Sparmax AC-100 compressor. BSaically I model 1/35 AFVS and use a paasche VL double action airbrush. I have had no trouble in the past using this brush to get fine lines and camo etc when I was using my fathers industrial compressor. Mostly using pressure of 12-15 psi.
However I have obtained the AC-100 as I live in an apartment and need a quiet system but it is flawed. The pressuer is adjustable via a bleed valve, which is quite noisy. This works ok if the pressure is over 30 psi but in the low ranges that I need, 12-15 psi the air flow stutters and missess adn the guage drops to zero pressure, as all the pressure is escaping from this bleed valve. I am quite angry becasue when I purchased it I was very specific in my intentions and the salesman told me he used one with his Aztek airbush with no problems.
Aside from the inabilty to maintain a constant low pressure which means my once fine lines are now 2 cm wide, I'm using a lot more paint with a heap of splatter. It's so annoying as I have never had difficulties in the past doing fine lines and mottles.
So I'm asking if anyone owns one of these machines and how they find it for modelling applications and if there any fix to make this compressor usuable?
Thanks for any advice/suggestions
