I would bet that that is a genuine color reversal photograph captured on a 35mm camera. Early slide film be it AGfa or Kodak had alot in common with film for moving picture film. This has that same look as to early color war reels and suffers from all those same looks and problems.
As well this looks much like other color slides from that era which all share these similarites:
high contrast and short dynamic range (blacks and shadows are really black, highlights washed out)
a color curve that is smooth and accurate: bright colors appear overly saturated while medium colors (tan, beige grays) appear below the curve, subdued and desaturated.
Over time as well, these slides themselves desaturate and have an overall color shift. some are worse than others so you need to consider when this slide was captrued to the digital medium.
Just my opinion but I'm a hobby photo historian and this aligns with many old slides I have seen. |
