Very useful article and is a different approach to filtering.

I first read about filters from MIG's article on ML and in it he says that filtering is done with a few coats of very lightly thinned paint(5%).

I have also come across a number of modelers using the same method in the article you refered and was wondering if this variation would yield the same result.

Filtering seems scary to me as a lot of the decisions (the colors to be used, number of coats, how much to take off) are very subjective but I would really like to try it. My build rate is slow and I don't want to "burn" a kit if I get it all wrong.
