You usually want to go to lower pressures when you using thinner paints, want thinner lines, or have to get really close to the workpiece.

If you are doing more of an area job, using thicker paints, then you want more pressure.

There is no specific pressure setting that will work for every situation, and learning to adjust pressure properly is something that needs practice to get right.
