Hi Konrad,
I have never actually airbrushed the Tamiya clear coat. I usually only use it to drop onto aircraft instrument panels to simulate glass on the instruments, etc.
Mix the Tamiya Flat base with Future floor wax, 1 part flat base to 3 parts future, for a dead flat finish. This doesn't need to be thinned for airbrushing. I am also told that this can be brush painted, since it "levels" itself and leaves no brush marks (I have not tried to brush this mixture on personally but many folks on the 'net swear by the technique).
