Why do you say "most " StuG at that time were yellow a base coat? Do you
mean factory base coat or repainted yellow by the troops?
I have seen photos of both yellow and grey bases on G, F and F/8. What are
the
page numbers for the photos from the books you citied with F/8's with yellow
bases and whitewash in the winter of 42/43?
A lot of the yellow bases I've seen were for vehicles originally intended
for Africa (one well photographed batch of F) or had been repainted in the
summer of 43, I've also seen some with a grey base and yellow camo.
