My preferred brand of paint is Polly Scale acrylics, which I thin with rubbing alcohol (90%). I also use a few Model Master Ecryl paints (mostly Panzergrau and Dunkelgelb) and more rarely Tamiya acrylics (white is awesome to airbrush!), all with the same thinners.
I did recently discover that Krylon Matte finish reacts very poorly with Tamiya, even when sprayed over Future. It worked much better sprayed over Polly Scale paints, oversprayed with either Future or MM Glosscote laquer. That's my tip of the day...
