Hello Alex,
I come to your rescue :)
The Dutch word for rubbing alcohol simply is "Alcohol 96%' also known as "Gedenatureerde Alcohol 96%" and is freely available at any store like Kruidvat, Etos etc around the country.
Sofar I have been kinda reluctant to deviate from Tamiya's own Acrylic Thinner but the cost per plastic container at nearly nine euro is rather preposterous, I think.
I not only use Tam's thinner for paint-thinning but also as my airbrush cleaner and therefore use quite a lot of it.
All the good advices on this subjecht (thanks, everyone !!) have pulled me across the indecision line to really try the much cheaper mix of water/alcohol.
