Sometimes the answer is so obvious that it makes you understand how simple the question was! ;-) I've had the same problem as you have, cleaning the airbrush with the expensive tamiya thinner brings tears to your eyes! I've a nearly liter of alcohol 96% in house and also plenty of water from the tap too, so I'll start mixing it up first thing tomorrow. For a long time I was puzzled by the composition of Tamiya thinner as they wisely don't give any information on the bottle. I now see why, making it yourself is indeed a lot cheaper. Another elusive question answered! :-)
