| I have used them before, but mainly for larger figure kits as opposed to planes and armor. Even then, I found that I needed to use a primer to make sure they stuck to some plastics. Also, they don't stand up well to a lot of contact, especially on edges, so I usually seal them with a flat finish or a sealer between painting sessions. Not sure about the selection where you are located, but Michael's and Hobby Lobby usually have a pretty good selection with multiple shades. I painted a Red Skull kit using these for about 50% of the colors, shading and weathering variations. Don't know if I would want to rely on them as my only paints, but are a good cheap alternative for some colors. One big plus is they come in bog bottles, so if you know you are going to need a lot of a certain color for a project, you should have more than enough to go around unlike having to buy several small bottles of other acrylics brands. |
