Technique may be a factor as well. Are you familiar with the air on-paint on-paint off-air off method of shooting? This is the way professional airbrush artists shoot, and it does a lot to keep the tip clear. Most people have no idea what this is. When I first learned this method I practiced for hours just shooting dots on sheets of newsprint. It was a revelation to find I could actually shoot finicky paints successfully. The CM is a challenge, but I also use a .2mm HP-BH that has 90% of the control of the CM and seems suitable for most tight camo work.

It also might help to use other additives with the Vallejo. I use various mixes of stuff found in art stores like Pearl, such as Golden Airbrush Medium, Createx Retarder and Liquitex Slo-Dri. These usually help quite a bit.
