Yes! The Germans where very pragmatic.

From what I've read the AFV supply to DAK was well organised. For example, in the Panzer Tracts' and Nuts&Bolts Pz. Jg.. books, detailed information is given regarding this. Special tropical versions of these vehicles where designed and shipped to Africa.
