Hello All,
This question has been in the TL forums a few month ago.
It is hard to give any "rules you should stick to"; too much depends on too many variables
-your combination of compressor and brand/type of airbrush you use.
-your preferred settings of paintflow/air pressure
-what kind of thinner is used ie eg Tamiya thinner vs water distulled or plain tap; to mention just a few.
All I can say is that I personally use Tamiya Acrylics for airbrushing only and Vallejo strictly for painting details (eg. tools, drybrushing edges etc. etc.)and Vallejo only for figures too.
All my experiments with my Paasche HSL airbrush with Vallejo have ended in unworkable end results.
Tamiya's drying time is okay for airbrushing but oddly enough (..or is it??...) Vallejo thinned with water has a much slower drying time than Tamiya with their own Thinner.
Anyone around with an explanation for that, by the way ??
Happy Modelling!
