Bill,

NATO camouflage refers to the three colours used as a NATO standardized camouflage paint..NATO green, NATO brown, and NATO black.

Each AFV or soft skin vehicle has a specific pattern using the three colours.

It was adopted in the mid 1980's. As far as U.S. main battle tanks it has been used on the M1IP, M1A1, M1A2, M60A3, M60A1 RISE.

The three colour NATO camouflage was not used on the M60A2. The MERDC scheme would be applicable to the M60A2.
