I think 10 coats of Future is a bit more than I want to use. Just a couple of coats is enough for me, and the decal reasonably dissappears. I also use Solvaset on ALL my decals, whether they need them or not. Effective on Tamiya's notoriously thick decals, and I'm not sure if its an illusion or not, but it definitely seems to cause the decals to become "thinner" (though this may just be the mechanic of the solvent causing the decal to snuggle down to the paint surface...). When combined with a final dullcote, works out well.
Yes, I agree: FUture is a pretty awesome product! I use it both in model building (I hate dry transfers, so I always glosscote for water transfers) as well as wargaming (nothing's tougher than Future to protect a figure).
