SPeaking from an American Tanker M-60's to M-1's. The underbelly of our tanks were factory painted the usual US Army green. After some usage most of the paint remains, but there are usually some very heavy scratching of the paint and floor pan of the hull, mixed with the usual dirt/grime and some assorted engie fluids from time to time.

I had the pleasure of inspecting numerous "Soviet"/ Iraqi, Israeli / French and Brit armor as well. In most cases the underside proved to be the same visually as ours.

Well enjoy, and hope this answers some questions regarding AFV undersides.
