I am currently working on the Tamiya SDKFZ 7/1 halftrack with the quad flak 38 on the bed and the Tamiya SDKFZ 222 armored car also mounting a 20mm gun.
The painting instructions indicate that the guns should be painted a gunmetal color.
Is this correct? Would any part or all of the gun have been painted the same color as the rest of the vehicle?
The box art for the SDKFZ 222 shows the barrel to be gunmetal and the sleeve protruding from the turret is panzer gray.
